How It Works

Taking part in My Voice is a three-step process: asking students about their perceptions of school, analyzing their responses, and acting on them to create recommendations tailored to school objectives. Schools may also choose to conduct staff and parent surveys for a comprehensive picture of the school culture. In every stage of every survey, My Voice resources provide the support schools need to understand students’ aspirations and foster achievement.

  • Analyze
  • Educators and administrators download and interpret reports using a simple online system. Reports are instantly attainable once a school has finished administering a My Voice survey online. Organized for ease of interpretation, reports contain a brief overview of the role of aspirations in schools and guidance on how to interpret results.
  • Act
  • Reflecting on their survey results, educators and students collaborate to create recommendations and action steps that best suit their school’s objectives. The Pearson Foundation and QISA provide resources and, as requested, professional development to address the needs of educators, but do not prescribe a one-size-fits-all approach. In addition, national research by the Aspirations Research Center provides context for educators to make meaningful changes.
